The Jenkins brothers (Phil and Peter) plan to power their way from Sydney to Perth in a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) ‘over the top’. They left Sydney after the Sydney International Boat Show on August 1 and expect to take approximately 10 weeks. They will make numerous stops on the voyage for fuel, food & water.
The vessel to be hammered for 9500 kms on the open seas is a 8.6 m Gemini RIB powered by dual Honda 225 outboards.
This commendable endeavor is to raise funds for prostate cancer research through Cancer Council Australia. Bravo!
